Meeting notes for People for Peace, Justice, and Healing
Saturday, May 20, 2006
People for Peace, Justice and Healing met May 20, 10 a.m., at Associated Ministries. Present for Check-in were Rob, Katherine, Sheila, Kyle, Scott, Joel, Karen 1 & 2, Vivi, Martell, Sallie, Colleen, Mark, and Laura. Check-in concluded at 11:45.
AGENDA:
Conversation Cafe: Katherine
Brief report-in of last C/C by Katherine. This coming Tuesday: Human
Destiny -- Are We Terminators or Preservers of Life? By popular request
the last question of the month, Tuesday, May 30, will focus on immigration.
Interfaith Camp: Sallie
Sallie asked us to distribute flyers to Christian Bookstores, TCC,
private schools, Life Center, Unity, Korean Women's Club, and various
other public venues.
Check-In: Group
Discussion of the fact that check-in took until 11:45. C/C model
suggested as a possible "discipline" to try -- or something similar....
to cutdown on time expenditure. Laura suggested a first and second
"pass" - checking in twice so people won't be so anxious about not
leaving anything out on the first go-round. Group decides to try
"self-discipline" and mindfulness when we're checking in. We will try and be
more adroit about abstracting agenda items from our check-ins...
TOWARD THE SANCTUARIZATION OF RICH COUNTRIES: Mark
Mark distributed a translation of an article by Alain Morice and
a recent statement by UFPPC on Iran -- both available on the UFPPC
web site.
